IPELRA presents its supervisory training program, Essential Skills for Supervisory Success. 

This training is a basic course for new or newer supervisors in union and non-union environments, developed by IPELRA and includes skills supervisors need to know as supervisors … and can be beneficial as an entry-level “brush-up” training for not-so-new supervisors. This full day of skills training will cover the following topics:

  •  Making the Transition from Peer to Supervisor 
  • Resources You Need to Know – Policies, Contracts, and More 
  • Communication, Coaching and Counseling Employees 
  • Having Difficult Conversations 
  • Performance Management 
  • Harassment and Discrimination 
  • Recruitment and Hiring 
  • Legal Implications – Sick Leave, FMLA, Workers’ Comp, ADA, Fitness for Duty 

Training sessions will be conducted by the IPELRA Supervisor Training Team – a team of professionals in the field that collectively offers years of practical, hands-on public sector supervisory and HR experience and insights, and extensive labor relations expertise. 

Lunch will be provided, please note any dietary requirements with your registration.

REGISTRATION FEE: $325 Members and Organizational Associates of Members; $400 Non-Members

 This training is intended for supervisory and management personnel only.
