Learn how you can work with your labor partners to effectively utilize labor-management committees. Participants will learn best practices to organize and run an effective labor-management committee and topics you can use to start discussions with your labor partners as you setup or reinvigorate your LMC. Along the way, you'll explore tips for good communications, such as ways to dig deeper to get at the interests underlying conflicts and utilizing different individual communication styles to enhance discussions.
Federal Mediation and Conciliation Services
As value-added Advisors, a large part of the job entails couching people through conflict in the workplace. Rarely are you present when the initial conflict erupts, yet a key advisory role is to support the parties through the conflict while mitigating risk for them and the health of the organization. A season labor mediator will guide participants through understanding sources of conflict and the human brain's nature response to conflict situations. Participants will gain key tips and techniques for supporting parties through conflict prevention (when possible) and dispute resolution.
