“Do I really Need to Know That? Uncommon but Actually Common Legal Issues Supervisors Need to Know to Effectively Manage Their Workforce!”
Whether you’re the new supervisor or the experienced supervisor, you need to know about even the most uncommon of legal issues in order to effectively manage your employees and be a valued leader. The 2023 WPELRA supervisor training will help new and well-experienced supervisors understand these uncommon (yet all too common) legal challenges including understanding and complying with Wisconsin’s Public Records Law and Personnel Records law, effectively assessing FLSA wage and hour overtime, compensatory time, substitutions (trades), and bonus situations where the proverbial no-good-deed-goes-unpunished situations arise, First Amendment Audits, dealing with a less-than-full-duty worker, and surviving under difficult elected officials. This entertaining scenario-based training will guide supervisors through these challenging issues. This training is an excellent opportunity for all public-sector front-line supervisors, department heads, human resources professionals and administrators.
