The HR Generalist will work closely with the Director providing human resources functions requiring considerable knowledge of human resources in order to carry out activities which enable compliance within all federal, state and local regulations as well as program requirements, policies and procedures, and bargaining unit requirements.

Duties:

Safety/Compliance:  Monitor compliance with safety regulations in accordance with agencies such as the Public Employees Risk Reduction Program (i.e. PERRP).  Review and develop safety policies in areas that are identified as possible risks. Facilitate various safety committee meetings.

Workers Compensation:   Assist in administration of workers compensation claims and development of transitional duty and return-to-work plans. 

Recruitment:  Assist Director with recruitment strategies to meet current or anticipated staffing needs and implement recruitment strategies. Prepare job-relevant interview materials and assessments. Assist in benchmarking positions to ensure competitive compensation.

Training:  Monitor training compliance and participation for all employees, including voluntary and required trainings. Coordinate in-house training opportunities. Maintain and share centralized training resources for external opportunities.

Benefit Administration:  Assist with compensation and benefits planning and administration including coordination of annual open enrollment and reconciliation with benefit providers. Coordinate internal Wellness programs.

Other: Assist Director in complex human resource functions such as employee relations, staff development, position organization and regulation compliance reviews.

Position Type / Hours: Permanent, 40 hours per week

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management with 3 years of experience in Human Resources.
