Position:
The City of Sharonville is seeking a strategic and accomplished Human Resources professional to serve as its Human Resources Director. Reporting directly to the Safety/Service Director (City Manager), this role is a key member of the City’s senior leadership team. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team of management professionals dedicated to upholding Sharonville’s proud traditions while advancing best practices and ensuring compliance. The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking, collaborative, and results-driven leader with a passion for human resources and a demonstrated commitment to supporting and developing the City’s workforce.
The Human Resources Director leads the strategic direction of the City’s HR operations, making innovative decisions in collaboration with departments. This role oversees the continuous improvement of HR practices, policies, and processes to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, while aligning with industry best practices. The Director plays a primary role in negotiating collective bargaining agreements, maintaining positive labor relations, and optimizing HR technology, including payroll, benefits administration, compensation analysis, personnel records, and reporting tools. The Director also collaborates with department leaders on community programs, employee engagement initiatives, and organizational projects, serving as a visible HR leader and strengthening relationships across the workforce.

The City of Sharonville is conveniently located 15 miles north of downtown Cincinnati, situated off interstates 75 and 275 and nestled in both Hamilton and Butler Counties. Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
- Professional certification in Human Resources (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, IPMA-CP, or CLRP) is desirable.
- Four or more years of progressively responsible experience in human resources management, preferably in a municipal or government setting.
- A combination of additional education or professional experience and training may be considered.
Salary and Benefits:
The compensation package includes an annual range of $62,400 – $119,974, commensurate with experience. The City offers a highly-competitive benefits package that includes a health insurance plan with HSA employer contributions ($500 single/$1,000 family), the City pays 95% of the total premium cost and the single plan starts at just $15.26 per pay; a personal wellness and rewards program with the opportunity to earn additional HSA contributions ($1,500 single/$2,500 family); a generous health insurance opt-out program; paid life insurance; participation in the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System; paid vacation; 11 paid holidays; flex scheduling; tuition reimbursement; membership to the Sharonville Community Center and much more.
