The Role
In this role, you will be a key driver of our workplace culture, providing specialized consultation on employee relations, performance management, and policy interpretation. You will serve as a trusted advisor to managers and staff, ensuring that personnel practices remain consistent, equitable, and aligned with our institutional values of diversity and continuous improvement.
Your Impact
In this position, you will:
Support Labor Strategy: Assist the Director in interpreting Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs), managing grievances, and preparing for negotiations.
Drive Operational Excellence: Maintain critical employee relations databases and ensure timely, accurate communication with all stakeholders.
Facilitate Negotiations: Coordinate the logistics of collective bargaining, including drafting proposals, capturing detailed minutes, and formatting final agreements.
Champion Employee Growth: Support the performance evaluation process, tracking "needs improvement" ratings to help employees develop through Plans of Assistance.
Administrative Support: Provide high-level organizational support to HR leadership, managing critical databases and facilitating departmental communications.

We need a detail-oriented, composed professional who thrives in a unionized environment and values diversity.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED plus four years of professional HR experience in employee relations or labor law.
OR an Associate’s Degree in Business or a related field plus two years of relevant HR professional experience.
Preferred Assets
Experience in a unionized environment and proficiency with HR systems like Ellucian Banner or NEOGOV.
Relevant certifications such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR.
Extensive experience with a focus on coaching and performance management.
Strong bicultural/multicultural skills to effectively engage with our diverse staff and public.
